Recall pots and pans1 Nearly 1.7 Million Pots and Pans Recalled For Posing Burn and Fire Hazards To Consumers and PropertyAfter more than 1,100 reports of the Italian-made cookware collapsing, crimping and severely deforming when exposed to heat, Hy Cite Enterprises, in cooperation with the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), has announced a recall of its Royal Prestige 9-Ply Thermal Wall Cookware. The defective pots and pans pose both a burn and fire hazard. Roughly 1.7 million pots and pans will be affected by this recall.

The recalled cookware is identified as stainless steel 9-ply “Thermal Wall.” Pots and pans have been sold under the “Royal Prestige” brand name both individually and in sets. To identify the cookware, check the bottom of the pot or pan for a seal including the words “Thermal Wall” and “9-Ply.” This recall will include the following cookware:

  • 1.5 qt. saucepan
  • 2 qt. saucepan
  • 3 qt. Dutch oven
  • 4 qt. Dutch oven
  • 6 qt. Dutch oven
  • 8 qt. Dutch oven
  • 8″ skillet
  • 10.5″ skillet
  • 10″ paella pan
  • 14″ paella pan

Priced at between $250 and $800 for individual pieces and $800 and $3,500 for sets, independent distributors of Hy Cite Enterprises sold the recalled cookware through door-to-door sales.

If you have identified any of your cookware as Royal Prestige 9-Ply Thermal Wall cookware, CPSC and Hy Cite urge you to cease use of the cookware and contact Hy Cite for instructions for shipping the cookware for repair or replacement.
