Honda Logo1 Honda recalls vehicles for faulty brakesHonda has issued a worldwide recall for vehicles whose brakes may be improperly manufactured, posing a risk of failure, which could result in a crash. In the U.S., affected models are the 2006 model year Acura RSX and 2006 and 2007 model years Honda S2000.

The manufacturer reports power brake booster parts were not made according to specifications. As a result, vehicle owners may experience a decrease in braking power over time, which could result in a crash. Honda has no reports of accidents or injuries as a result of the defect to date.

Vehicle owners will be notified by mail in mid-July. Dealers will inspect affected vehicles and replace the brake booster if needed.

This recall affects 18,000 vehicles in the United States, and an additional 70,000 vehicles sold in Japan. Models affected by the recall outside the U.S. include the 2006 and 2007 Honda Edix, 2006 Honda Mobilio, 2006 Honda Spike, 2005 and 2006 Honda Air Wave, 2006 Honda Stream and 2005 and 2006 Honda Integra.
