Recall teething toys 435x214 About 191,000 Coco the Monkey teething toys sold exclusively at Target recalled by InfantinoAfter reports of the toy monkey’s tail causing infants to choke and gag, Infantino, in conjunction with the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), has announced a recall of nearly 191,000 “Go Gaga Squeeze & Teethe Coco the Monkey” toys.

The Go Gaga Squeeze & Teethe Coco the Monkey teething toys make a squeaking sound when pressed. Each toy is made of a soft orange rubber that is shaped liked a monkey. Each toy stands roughly 4.5 inches tall by 5 inches long. The toy was made for children ages newborn and older. The company’s name, “Infantino,” is printed on the back toward the rear with the model number, 206-647, marked on the inside of the rear left leg.

While no injuries have been reported, Infantino and CPSC have received seven reports involving infants gagging and choking on the toy monkey’s tail.

The recalled teething toys were sold exclusively at Target stores and online for about $13 from December 2012 through January 2014. The toys were manufactured in China.

Consumers who have identified the Go Gaga Squeeze & Teethe Coco the Monkey toys should immediately put the toys out of children’s reach and contact Infantino to receive a replacement toy, free of charge.
