Recall wax warmers Family Dollar 279x210 Family Dollar announces wax warmer recall after reports of burns, property damageAccording to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), more than 30,000 wax warmers sold exclusively by Family Dollar are now under recall due to the number of consumer reports related to fires and burns.

The wax warmer recall encompasses Family Dollar’s ceramic wax warmer sets, which includes a teacup-shaped wax warmer and four vanilla-scented wax cubes to melt. A tea light candle can be inserted into the warmer through an opening in the front, although the candle is not included as part of the original set. The recalled wax warmers are cream or green in color with gold trim.

Before the wax warmer recall was announced, consumers reported 11 incidents of the warmer producing dangerously high flames during use. The recalled wax warmers were also responsible for two burn injuries and three reports of property damage.

From April 2015 through September 2015, the recalled ceramic wax warmers were only sold at Family Dollar locations across the country for approximately $4. The defective products were manufactured in China.

Family Dollar and CPSC request all recalled wax warmer owners to return the products to Family Dollar stores in order to receive a full refund of their purchase price.
