According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), about 10,000 Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Infant Bodysuits are now under recall. The recall notice claims the infant bodysuits’ snaps may detach, thus putting young children at risk of a choking hazard.
Only two styles of the 100 percent cotton, one-piece infant bodysuits are featured in this recall – the Darth Vader style and Disneyland 60th Anniversary style.
The Darth Vader style features a grey body with black sleeves and trim, as well as an infant Darth Vader cartoon holding a light saber with the text, “If you only knew the power of THE DARK SIDE.” The Darth Vader infant bodysuits were available in 3M, 6M, 12M, 18M and 24M.
The Disneyland 60th Anniversary style features a light blue body with royal blue sleeves and trim, as well as artwork with Mickey Mouse, Goofy, Donald Duck and Pluto all in front of the Disneyland Castle with the text, “60th Disneyland Resort, Diamond Celebration.” The Disneyland 60th bodysuits were available in 6M, 12M, 18M and 24M.
Before the infant bodysuit recall was announced, CPSC and Walt Disney Parks and Resorts were not made aware of any incidents or injuries related to the recalled bodysuits. The bodysuits were manufactured in Guatemala.
From February 2015 through November 2015, the recalled infant bodysuits were sold at Walt Disney World® Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Florida, Disneyland® Resort in Anaheim, California, the Treasure Ketch Shop on the Disney Wonder® and Mickey’s Mainsail located on the Disney Magic®, Disney Dream® and Disney Fantasy® cruise ships for around $20.
Any identified infant bodysuits included in this recall should be taken out of use by the infant’s parents or guardians. Walt Disney Parks and Resorts can be contacted about how to receive a full refund.
