Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Yolanda Hadid has been candid about her health problems in recent years, talking openly about her natural remedies and Eastern medicine approaches in search of a cure to Lyme disease, which she contracted in 2012. When her condition took a turn for the worse, and nothing, not even a stem cell transplant seemed to help, she wondered if her health problems might be due to her breast implants. She found out more than she bargained for.
Yolanda learned from Dr. Susan E. Kolb, a breast implant specialist and author of the book “The Naked Truth About Breast Implants: From Harm to Healing.” In her book, Dr. Kolb says that both silicone-filled and saline-filled breast implants can leak toxins into the bloodstream causing autoimmune disease, bacterial infections, mold contamination, and even lymphoma. Yolanda wasted no time in having her implants removed, hoping it might help improve her health.
“Hopefully this is the answer,” she told the Daily Mail before the surgery. “It’s not going to cure my Lyme disease but it’s going to change my immune system, it’s going to give my body hopefully the opportunity to cure 80, 90 percent of it and I can go back to living some sort of a normal life. I’m feeling like a soldier that is gong to battle, ready to take on this evil thing, this devil stuck in my chest.”
The seven-hour surgery was broadcast on Bravo in January and, until recently, no one knew whether removing the implants had a positive impact on Yolanda’s health. That is until last weekend, when the reality TV star posted a photo of herself on vacation in Tahiti, bikini clad and standing in crystal blue waters. Her caption doesn’t reveal whether she is feeling better post breast implant removal surgery, but her face is all aglow, something the star credits to body scrub.
