supplement Wikipedia 263x210 Megajex ED supplement recalled, contains hidden prescription drugsMegajex Natural Male Sex Enhancer capsules contain undeclared prescription drug ingredients that may be hazardous to the health of certain individuals, a Food and Drug Administration (FDA) analysis has found. As a result, Megajex manufacturer, MS Bionic, Inc., is recalling all lots of the male erectile dysfunction dietary supplement.

The FDA says that Megajex contains the pharmaceutical ingredients tadalafil and sildenafil, the active ingredients in Cialis and Viagra, respectively. These ingredients may pose a threat to consumers because they can interact with some prescription drugs, such as nitroglycerin, and may lower blood pressure to dangerous levels.

Consumers with diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or heart disease often take nitrates. Erectile dysfuntion is a common problem in men with these conditions, and consumers may seek these types of products to enhance sexual performance, the FDA cautions.

Megajex Natural Male Sex Enhancer is marketed as a dietary supplement for erectile dysfunction and is packaged in 20-count bottles. It was sold nationwide. Consumers who have these products in their possession are advised to stop using them immediately and to return the product to the place of purchase for a full refund. Consumers with questions about the return or refund process should call the company at 714-470-4352.

People who experience side effects after taking these dietary supplements should contact a doctor. Any adverse events related to this recall should be reported to the FDA MedWatch Adverse Event Reporting Program at www.FDA.gov/MedWatch/Report.htm.
