Recall strollers Britax 179x210 Britax stroller recall encompasses more than 700K with dangerous fall hazard; 26 infants injuredMore than 700,000 B-Agile and BOB Motion strollers are now under recall by Britax and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission () following reports that its car seat may disengage and fall unexpectedly. The cause of the defect stems from a damaged receiver mount on the stroller, which was as a fall hazard to infants sitting in the car seat.

According to the CPSC, the involves all models and colors of the folding, single or double occupant Britax B-Agile and BOB Motion strollers. The recalled strollers should have Click & Go receiver mounts that are used to attach the car seat carrier to the stroller’s frame. To find the stroller’s model number, check inside of the stroller’s metal frame near the right rear wheel on single strollers, or the front middle underside of the frame on double strollers.

Before the stroller recall was announced, Britax and CPSC learned of 33 incidents where the car seats disconnected unexpectedly and fell to the ground. Out of the 33 incidents, 26 resulted in minor injuries to children, including contusions, cuts, and bumps to the head. The recalled Britax strollers were manufactured in China.

From May 2011 through February 2017, the recalled strollers were sold for between $250 and $470 at retailers such as Babies R Us, Buy Buy Baby, Target and other stores across the nation. The recalled strollers were also available online at Amazon.com, albeebaby.com, buybuybaby.com, diapers.com, ToysRUs.com and other juvenile product-related websites.

Consumers should immediately ensure that their children’s stroller is not using the defective Click & Go receiver mounts. If so, contact Britax to receive a free repair kit.
