Manna Products Co., is recalling three types of Trader Joe’s Unsweetened Apple Sauces because pieces of glass were found mixed into some jars of the product. Consumers with specific containers of Trader Joe’s All Natural Unsweetened Apple Sauce, Trader Joe’s Organic Unsweetened Apple Sauce, and Trader Joe’s First Crush Unsweetened Gravenstein Apple Sauce are advised not to eat the products and to return them to Trader Joe’s for a full refund, or dispose of them.
Products affected by the recall include Trader Joe’s All Natural Apple Sauce with the UPC 00014359, and all “Best Before” Date Codes through DEC 16, 2018. This brand was distributed to stores in Arizona, Alabama, California, Colorado, Idaho, Louisiana, New Mexico, Nevada, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas, Utah and Washington.
The recall also affects Trader Joe’s Organic Unsweetened Apple Sauce with the UPC 00194877, and all “Best Before” Date Codes through OCT. 06, 2018, and Trader Joe’s First Crush Unsweetened Gravenstein Apple Sauce with the UPC 00015905, and all “Best Before” Date Codes through AUG 08, 2018. Both of these apple sauces were distributed nationwide.
Each apple sauce is packaged in a 24 ounce glass jar. The “Best Before” date is stamped on the top of the lid. All affected products have been removed from store shelves and destroyed.
