Recall chili Hunts 231x210 Hunts Chili Kit recall prompted by Possible salmonella contaminationConagra Brands, Inc. is now in the process of recalling certain Hunt’s Chili Kits upon discovering the kit’s chili seasoning, which originated from another supplier, may be contaminated by Salmonella. The company has opted to perform this recall out of an abundance of caution for consumer safety, despite having not detected any traces of salmonella in its final product.

The Hunt’s Chili Kit recall encompasses the following Conagra food products:

The recalled chili kits were distributed to retail stores, military commissaries and online retailers across the U.S. No other Hunt’s or Conagra Brands’ products other than the ones mentioned above are affected by this recall.

Although there have been no reports of adverse reactions or injuries from ingesting the recalled chili kits, Salmonella poses a significant health risk to the elderly, infants and those with impaired immune systems. Symptoms of a Salmonella infection include diarrhea, fever and severe abdominal cramps.

Consumers in possession of one or more of the recalled Hunt’s Chili Kits are advised not to consume the product and return it to the store of purchase to receive a refund. Conagra Brands is working with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to ensure that all recalled chili kits are properly removed from store shelves and no longer available for purchase.
