‘Natural’ dietary supplement tainted with Viagra

viagra Natural dietary supplement tainted with ViagraDon’t be fooled by Natures Supplement Inc.’s Vegetable Vigra. The dietary supplement contains is laced with the prescription erectile drug Viagra, and poses a health risk to men with common health conditions.

The recall involves 260 bottles of Vegetable Vigra 200mg, sold as a “natural” male enhancement and packaged in a bottle with a green label that reads “enhanced Vegetable Vigra.” Affected VegetableVigra includes all lots remaining within the expiration date. The supplement was distributed in Florida to consumers via a third-party distribution company.

A laboratory analysis conducted by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) revealed that the products contained undeclared sildenafil, the active drug ingredient in the prescription medication Viagra. The drug may interact with nitrates and cause dangerously low blood pressure. Men with diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or heart disease often take nitrates. To date, Natures Supplement has not received any reports of adverse events related to this recall.

Natures Supplement is notifying its distributor and arranging for return of all recalled products. Anyone with affected Vegetable Vigra should stop using it immediately and return it to the place of purchase.
