Salmonella 435x434 Supplement for men recalled due to Salmonella riskBreak Ventures/California Basics is recalling its dietary supplement Zero for Him because it may be contaminated with Salmonella, an organism that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy people infected with Salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain.

Zero for Him is promoted as a product “made by men for men” and is “formulated specifically to help men keep their bowel movements regular and clear for clean, stain-free, and blissfully pure night-time fun.”

The potential for contamination was identified after routine testing by Break Ventures/California Basics revealed the presence of Salmonella in one bottle of the product. Further testing did not reveal any more presence of the organism. Distribution of Zero for Him has been suspended while the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the company investigate the source of the Salmonella contamination.

Consumers who have purchased Zero for Men are urged to return the product to the place of purchase for a full refund. Any side effects experienced while using this supplement should be reported to the FDA MedWatch Adverse Event Reporting Program at www.FDA.gov/MedWatch/Report.htm.
