Bulletproof 360 Inc., is recalling one lot of Bulletproof Collagen Protein dietary supplement, promoted for tissue, muscle and bone recovery after exercise, because the product contains undeclared milk. People with allergies or severe sensitivity to milk are at risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reactions if they consume this product.
The recall affects lot #1017088 of Bulletproof Collagen Protein, packaged in a 16-ounce composite-film bag. It has the UPC 8 15709 -2115 3 printed on the label, along with the expiration date, listed as EXP03/19. All other lots of Bulletproof Collagen Protein and other products purchased at bulletproof.com are not affected by this recall.
The affected lot of Bulletproof Collagen Protein was sold to distributors in California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Indiana, New Hampshire, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, Washington and Wisconsin. The product was further distributed to retail stores nationwide.
The recall was initiated after the company discovered that bulk whey (milk) protein was mislabeled as collagen protein by its third-party manufacturer during the manufacturing process. As a result, the product’s label does not state that the whey (milk) protein is in the finished product.
Anyone who has purchased the affected lot of Bulletproof Collagen Protein who has an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk should not use the product and return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.
Any adverse events related to this recall should be reported to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) at www.FDA.gov/MedWatch/Report.htm.
