Pre-workout supplements recalled due to undeclared allergen

ucm603962 375x186 Pre workout supplements recalled due to undeclared allergenIndependent Nutrition Inc., doing business as Back to Health, is recalling certain lots of its Ignite High Endurance Pre-Workout dietary supplements because they may contain undeclared milk. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk who consume this product are at risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction. To date, Independent Nutrition has received no reports of illness related to this recall issue.

Affected lots of Ignite High Endurance Pre-Workout Supplement products were sold at health food stores in California, Oregon, New Jersey and Texas between March 1, 2015, and March 31, 2018. The products were sold in 1-pound bags under the brand name Back to Health and include the following:

  • Ignite High Endurance Pre-Workout Supplement (brands include Back to Health and Healthy Home Center Inc.)
  • Ignite High Endurance Pre-Workout Supplement Vanilla (Back to Health)
  • Ignite High Endurance Pre-Workout Supplement with Caffeine (Back to Health)

In a review of the products label contents, it was discovered that the products contain whey protein powder, which contains lactose, which can trigger a milk allergy or sensitivity. Any one with possession of these supplements should return them to the place of purchase. Any adverse events related to use of these supplements should file a report with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) MedWatch Adverse Event Reporting Program at www.FDA.gov/MedWatch/Report.htm.
