AquaLung recalls BC weight pocket handles

Despite no known occurrences or injuries reported, Aqua Lung is currently cooperating with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) to conduct a voluntary recall of Aqua Lung’s SureLock II weight pocket handles. Since 2009, SureLock II has been used on most Aqua Lung buoyancy compensators (BCs) as the mechanical weight release system; however, Aqua Lung is now concerned about the rubber handle pulling off of the plastic SureLock II weight pocket assembly. British Columbia truck crash kills vacationing California family

A family of four from California was killed in British Columbia, Canada, Friday after being struck by a flat-deck tractor trailer and trapped inside their van. The tragic crash happened just after 3 p.m. on Highway 93 in the Kootenay National Park in eastern BC, west of Calgary, Alberta. According to the Langley Times, the Howard family of Palo Alto, California, was apparently vacationing in Canada and had just crossed into the country the previous day.
