First Low T side effects trial to begin June 5

The first trial among more than 2,000 in a class-action lawsuit accusing several manufacturers of testosterone treatments of not adequately warning users of the potential for cardiovascular side effects with use of the hormone therapy, is scheduled to begin June 5, according to the Cook County Record. The class action lawsuits date back to 2014 and name drug companies such as AbbVie, Besins, Eli Lily and GlaxoSmithKline. The lawsuits were consolidated in the U.S. District Court for Northern Illinois in Chicago. Judge orders AbbVie to turn over board documents in AndroGel patent lawsuit

A Pennsylvania federal judge ordered pharmaceutical company AbbVie to hand over to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) non-privileged marketing and sales documents related to its testosterone replacement treatment AndroGel. The FTC claims the documents prove that the drug company crafted sham lawsuits against rival testosterone manufacturers Perrigo Co. and Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd., to prevent generic versions of AndroGel from hitting the market. U.S. District Judge Harvey Bartle III also applied to order to AbbVie’s co-defendants, its parent company Abbott Laboratories and AbbVie’s subsidiary Unimed Pharmaceuticals.
