LOUISVILLE, KY. — The company–owner of a school bus that spun out of control and crashed on a Louisville highway June 11 took legal action against Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. this month to get its tires back from the manufacturer, which had been performing tests on them. According to the Courier-Journal, Commonwealth Bus Service filed a motion Oct. 10 asking a judge to force Goodyear to give the tires back. A Greyhound bus passenger who was critically injured when the bus she was traveling in crashed into the back of a tractor trailer in Pennsylvania earlier this month has filed a personal-injury lawsuit against the bus company. The lawsuit is reportedly the first complaint against Greyhound to be filed in relation to the Oct. 9 crash, which killed one person and injured 44 others. Authorities investigating the crash of a chartered bus carrying several high school students and their chaperons into a Boston bridge Saturday night say that the bus did not belong on the road because the bridge clearance wasn’t of sufficient height.
