Britax, a UK-based manufacturer of vehicle safety equipment, has announced a recall of more than 215,000 strollers after consumers reported severe lacerations, along with a break and amputation to fingers. These startling injuries were reportedly caused by the hinge on the stroller’s folding mechanism when the release button is pressed while pulling on the release strap. The strollers involved in this recall are the Britax B-Agile, B-Agile Double and BOB Motion models. Nationwide Industries, in conjunction with the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), has announced a recall of about 2,500 Trident Pool Gate Latches. Each gate contains a magnet contained in the striker portion of the latch assembly; however, this magnet can become loose over time, preventing the latch from properly securing the gate. Following severe situations involving children ingesting the toy, the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and Doodlebutt, a toy company from Florida, have announced a recall of about 1,500 water-absorbing polymer toys also known as Doodlebutt Jelly BeadZ Jumbo BeadZ and Magic Growing Fruity Fun toys. CPSC has been made aware of one case inside the U.S. where an 8-month-old girl swallowed the recalled toy, thus requiring surgical removal. The announcement was made when incidents of the front fork separating from the wheel were being reported.
