Hundreds of thousands of Gardasil vaccines are being recalled because they may be contaminated with little bits of glass, according to a statement released by Merck & Co. While no injuries have been reported, if administered, the contaminated vaccines may cause health complications such as a reaction at the injection site. Nearly 750,000 vaccines are involved in the recall, however Merck says only about 10 vials may have been affected. The problem stems from a breakdown in production.
