After reports of overheating and fires, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and Sunbeam Products Inc. are now recalling about 5,700 convertible clothes irons. The defective Sunbeam irons suffer from a wiring defect that allows them to overheat, thus posing a fire hazard to unsuspecting consumers. The Sunbeam® Convertible Irons highlighted in this recall can be identified by its model number of GCSBRS – 103, which can be found on the iron’s plastic base.
