According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), more than 40,000 HP lithium-ion batteries are now under recall after reports that the battery packs may overheat and put consumers at risk of fire and burn hazards. The laptop battery recall comprises of the Panasonic cells used in certain HP Notebook computers. The recalled batteries were compatible with the following notebook computers: HP, Compaq, HP ProBook, HP ENVY, Compaq Presario, and HP Pavilion.
