Man’s Death from Burns Sparks Second Space Heater Recall

An electric space heater manufacturer joined federal safety regulators in re-announcing the recall of thousands of electric space heater fans after a Minnesota man died of burn injuries he sustained in a December 2017 house fire. Vornado LLC of Andover, Kansas, originally recalled about 350,000 VH101 Personal Vortex electric space heaters in April over the risk of fire and burn injuries. Twin-Star International and CPSC recall more than 30,000 Duraflame electric space heaters

More than 30,000 Duraflame electric space heaters have been recalled by Twin-Star International and the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) after complaints that the heater can overheat, melt and even catch fire. The product has been reported to be a fire and burn hazard to consumers. Sold in black, red and white, the Duraflame-branded electric space heaters, model DSF-220, resemble a fireplace and can work with or without heat.
