A 10-year veteran of the Macon County Fire Department in Georgia, Darrell Plank, was struck in the head by a metal coupling when a fire hose snagged on a fire truck while fighting a fire on Saturday, according to the Associated Press. The Telegraph reports that Plank was taken by ambulance from the incident location in Montezuma to a nearby Medical Center, Navicent Health, where a CT scan later revealed he had suffered a stroke on the left side of his brain indicating a traumatic brain injury (TBI).
